I lost my son Jack to suicide on December 21, 2023. The 2 years before this event and the time since, has made significant impacts on my career and my career choices. The effects of the loss have been staggering and deeply wounding to my family and friends. I am glad I can work again and I even created Wiggedout Music to help my son's friends as part of my healing journey. I know my story is not unique in business as sadly I have met many others going through similar situations.
Jack suffered from mental health issues, and to honour Jack, his mother, Laura Zerebeski, and I are raising money for mental health through a registered charity formed in 2011 called JACK.ORG This charity is not named for my son but rather shares the name Jack. The charity is a Canadian youth mental health organization that promotes peer counselling and provides mental health training and literacy. From my experiences, this type of support helps.
